Skavsta city – An area under development

Arlandastad Group owns and operates two of Sweden's largest development areas. In Skavsta, the state and municipalities are implementing billions in investments in new infrastructure.

Skavsta is a 4.84 million square meter strategically located destination – an obvious place for companies and players with a view to growth and development. Here, cooperation, sustainability and a long-term perspective are at the centre. The development is taking place in stages in close dialogue with Nyköping Municipality, which is already establishing important businesses in the area.

Air, road, rail and shipping meet in Skavsta

With its unique location south of Stockholm, where air, road, rail and shipping meet, conditions are created for thousands of new jobs, increased commuting and future housing. Skavsta is a place where ideas can take place and grow. The landscape of Sörmland provides an attractive setting. The development is taking place in collaboration with Nyköping Municipality, which is already establishing long-term operations in the area.

Millions of square meters of opportunity and space for 10,000 jobs

The area is strategically located on the coastline of Mälardalen. With proximity to Stockholm, the E4, the Baltic Sea's deepest port in Oxelösund, Stockholm Skavsta Airport and the East Link railway, the whole world is within easy reach. Here, national and international flows meet, which creates unique locations for establishment. When the area is fully developed, it is expected to provide space for almost 10,000 jobs.

Ostlänken provides faster travel and increased accessibility

The new double-track railway, Ostlänken, will be drawn through Skavsta, a major investment that greatly improves communications throughout the region, with shorter travel times as a result. Immediately adjacent to the airport, Skavsta Travel Centre is being built – a central interchange point between trains, buses and planes. The entire East Link section will open for traffic in 2035. The travel centre at Skavsta is planned to be completed as early as 2032. The railway strengthens Skavsta's role as both a regional and national hub.

Stockholm Skavsta Airport is the heart of a growing region

Stockholm Skavsta Airport is the heart of Skavsta and plays a crucial role in the region's business, tourism and development. With a catchment area of around three million people within a radius of 100 kilometers, the airport is a strong hub for both national and international traffic. Here, people, services and business meet – and it is in these meetings that new opportunities arise. The airport's central role as a communication point strengthens Skavsta's position as a natural place for establishments and growth.

Skavsta is a part of Arlandastad Group

Skavsta is jointly owned by Arlandastad Group (90.1%) and Nyköping Municipality (9.9%). The area was acquired in 2022 and is the same size as 13 times the Old Town in Stockholm.
